I'm serving on the 18-person Steering Committee, as Event Marketing Coordinator, which means I'm helping to advertise our events and activities. Our goal is to raise $1,450,000 dollars for the United Way of McLean County!
We kicked off our Power Period with a 5K race on Saturday morning. Here are some photos and the write-up of our success...
"The third annual State Farm 5K kicked off the 2009 United Way Campaign on Saturday, September 26. With over 1,100 associates, family members, and retirees pre-registered, it was clear this was a record–breaking event. As the morning fog lifted, the lines formed, and runners of all ages began warming up for the race. The energy of all participants was undeniable.
Over 600 runners and walkers made their way through State Farm Park to get our campaign off the starting block!"
Chris wasn't very excited about having to be up and out of the house by 6:15AM on a Saturday, but getting to be the Good Neighbear made it all worth it. ;) LOL
